Raised in El Paso, Texas, Dr. Lovell grew up on the U.S.-Mexico border in a predominantly Hispanic community. She spent summers with family in Slovakia and France being exposed to entirely different cultures.
Her mother was born in communist Czechoslovakia, and her father is a native Texan, giving her a unique blend of European heritage and Southern roots. Fluent in Slovak and conversational in French, Dr. Lovell’s international experiences have allowed her to connect with patients from all backgrounds, ensuring they feel understood and valued.
Dr. Lovell’s journey in plastic surgery began during her General Surgery residency at Emory University, where she quickly developed a passion for the field. This transformative experience led her to pursue a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio, where she had the opportunity to train at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic and study under world-renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. Bahman Guyuron.
Her extensive training and surgical expertise have earned her certifications from both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, ensuring that her patients receive the highest level of care, skill, and precision.
Dr. Lovell graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Czech Language and Culture while also dedicated to a pre-med curriculum. Her studies took her to Charles University in Prague, where she deepened her appreciation for art, history, and photography, further shaping her artistic eye—a skill that seamlessly translates into her surgical practice.
She earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (now McGovern Medical School), located in the Texas Medical Center—the world’s largest medical complex. While there, she conducted cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center and actively participated in surgical organizations, laying the foundation for her future as a leader in plastic surgery.
Dr. Lovell has presented her research at national plastic surgery meetings, including the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Her dedication was recognized when she received the Top 50 Resident Abstract award. She has also contributed to the field through academic writing, co-authoring a chapter on breast reduction surgery in The Unfavorable Result in Plastic Surgery: Avoidance and Treatment.
Fueled by passion, she actively seeks out ongoing education and top plastic surgery conferences to stay at the forefront of her field.
While Dr. Lovell is deeply committed to her craft and her patients, she also finds joy in giving back, exploring new experiences, and embracing a well-balanced life. Her surgeon husband and daughter are her greatest sources of joy and fulfillment. She is passionate about animal rescue and shares her home with three beloved rescue dogs—Chutney, Grady, and Haven—as well as her cat, Scooby.
